The projects I am or have been involved in are:

            - Providentia, a software to evaluate atmospheric composition models using ground-based observational data.
 - CALIOPE, a dashboard to show the air quality forecast in Barcelona, Catalonia and Spain.
 - NES (NetCDF for Earth Science), a library to read and write datasets in parallel and perform geospatial operations.
 - Climval, a validation portal to check questions and answers related to Earth Science with the objective of finetuning large language models.
 - EpiOutlook, a dashboard that provides early warning indicators of epidemiological risks in Europe.

Sankt Gallen, Switzerland

Development of meteorological products, such as the sandstorm
and blizzard warnings and the meteor shower visibility index,
along with the computation of forward and backward wind
trajectories to find out which are the affected areas after
the release of harmful components to the atmosphere (e.g.
                volcanic eruption, nuclear explosion).

            Freiburg, Germany

Development of the open-source toolbox Open Energy Modelling
Framework for the optimization of photovoltaic solar hybrid
                systems.

            Daejeon, South Korea

Numerical analysis of the performance of the solar power
plants in South Korea to derive the relationship between the
power generation and the solar global horizontal irradiance
within the New and Renewable Energy Resource Map Laboratory.

EpiOutlook Dashboard

In 2025 I was responsible to set up the EpiOutlook dashboard full-stack architecture before handing it over
for further development. This project is under the IDAlert initiative and will soon be available as a platform to show the
predictions of the likelihood of disease outbreaks linked to climate events in Europe.

            Gighub

My team final project of the Postgraduate Course in Full Stack Web Technologies at UPC decided to
create Gighub, a web portal where users could find the upcoming concerts in Europe in a map and buy tickets.

          Climval

As part of a team of two, we created a Q&A validation portal for Earth Science. This website is
being used within our department to create a reliable dataset with Q&A related to climate,
useful to finetune LLM models that will help answering Earth Science questions.

          CALIOPE Dashboard

I am the main developer of the
              CALIOPE dashboard, which shows
the air quality forecast in Spain, while working at the Earth Science department of
              the Barcelona Supercomputing Center.

          GeoMundus Conference

I lead the development of the website
for the GeoMundus Conference in 2021.
This conference is organized by the students of the Master's degree in Geospatial
Technologies every year to share the state of the art scientific research,
knowledge, and skills in the fields of Geospatial Technologies, Geoinformatics, and
              Geosciences.

          Personal blog

              Created back in 2019,
              albavilanova.es
was my first (official) site and its main goal was to encourage
Spanish people to study, work and travel abroad and help them in
the process. In 2024 it is receiving about 1000 views per month.
